Our visit to the Museum of Illusions in Athens, Greece

If you are in Athens and especially if you are with friends or have children, we suggest visting the Museum of Illusions. It is a museum different from others, which is going to teach you, entertain you, drive your senses crazy and at the same time excite you. It is located very close to Monastiraki Square (Monastiraki metro station) in the center of Athens and it is not at all difficult to find even thought its building is not on the street but “hidden” in one of the many wonderful secret places of Athens. Signs will lead you though.

Your child’s head on a plate, on a set table, looks a bit macabre at first, but the process and the end result are definitely fun especially for kids! So go for it!

In the museum you can also find “games” with light and shadows and even grown-ups can become children again.

Here you can see the museum’s exhibits, some of which are in separate rooms while others are images or constructions.

Let your imagination run wild and take the most amazing photos in the upside down room!

In one corner of the room there is a giant (Melita) and in the other a dwarf (Thanos)!

The Museum has got a clever playroom where visitors of all ages can play, compete and learn. The playroom stimulates learning and fun with Dilemma games, wooden puzzles and games, which stimulate cognitive abilities and turn the playroom into a real fitness centre for your brain. Play with the brain teasers, puzzles, impossible knots, tricks and mathematical games as well as other educational concepts which will blow your mind but simultaneously make you smarter.

Hi! I’m Kathy and since 2011 I call myself a family lifestyle and travel blogger and I have our blog Anthomeli as my second home. However, when I am not blogging, I use my other qualifications. I teach piano to kids and I make handmade pinatas for parties through our “We Love Pinatas” e-shop! Arts and Crafts was always my cup of tea so I managed to find the golden solution through blogging and profession. On the Greek Travel Family blog, I want to help you find the appropriate accommodation in Greece and Europe , museums and activities for your travel family and book them on the most affordable prices. I do the same for my husband and our two kids, so why not for you!
